'TIS THE SEASON TO BE JOLLY
For most, December is a time for family holidays, big lunches and Christmas trees - or lazy days soaking up the sun wherever you may be.
But for SA.MAST Animal Clinic in South Africa's largest and fastest growing township, it's a very different story. Our families and friends will come a distant second. And we're so broke, there may be a Christmas tree, but there aren't going to be presents.
Instead, we'll be sterilising, treating the sick, mending broken bones, racing to one animal ambulance call out after the next while trying to also find homes for rescued or surrendered fur babies.
ENOUGH ON OUR PLATES RIGHT?
Nope. We also have to fund every single action we undertake. Helpless fur children need to be fed, medicine has to be bought, broken equipment replaced and ambulance vehicles fuelled up and maintained.
