They say it happens in three's, but we certainly hope not!
We have three patient transportation vehicles. Two of the vehicles dedicated to collecting and returning our mass sterilisation patients and one is specifically dedicated to responding emergency medical call outs.
In 2014, with just three vehicles, SA.MAST has ensured the sterilisation and primary treatment of 1870 cats and dogs in Khayelitsha, attended to hundreds of emergency medical assist and rescue cases and built and distributed over 700 kennels for shelterless dogs and pups!
In November one of our vehicles, the 1997 Nissan 1 Tonner, broke down and we were forced to replace the engine. The total bill: R22 923.62. Much cheaper than buying a new vehicle, but still a huge bill for SA.MAST.
Just two weeks later…
Now our 2003 Ford Bantum, our Animal Ambulance vehicle, has also broken down! Shockingly, here too we are forced to replace the engine at a discounted cost of R17 000.
Can you help us get back on the road? Any contribution towards the repair costs, no matter how small will be GREATLY appreciated. Please remember that we can issue Section 18A Tax Deductible Donation Certificates.
